Overview

P. California Inter Hostel was built in 2002 and is a family-run guest house with 12 rooms with all together 24 beds. English and Thai spoken.
P. California Inter Hostel is located near by the market, banks, and post office. To the south a small natural khlong (stream) is separating the compound and the fields (wetland).

Nang Rong is a gateway town for most ancient Khmer-sites in NE-Thailand and situated some 360 km northeast of Bangkok along highway No. 24. There are many local buses to any destination. Car, motorbike, and bike rent is available. The food services in town are superb and available around the clock. Banking service in this tiny town is perfect.

The Phanom Rung Sanctuary is another important Khmer site. It was built between the 7th and 12th century A.D. and is situated on the top of the Phanom Rung Hill in Ta Pek Sub-district, Chaloem Phra Kiat District, Buriram Province. Phanom Rung is an original name and mentioned in stone inscriptions excavated in the area. It is a sanctuary dedicated to Shiva, the supreme Hindu deity. The construction symbolizes Mount Kailasa, the heavenly adobe of Shiva and is situated some 26 km east of Nang Rong.

Muang Tam is located 8 km east of Phanom Rung. It is considered to have been constructed around the 11th - 12th century A.D. and to be one of the most beautiful Khmer temples in Thailand. The restoration was completed and opened to the public in 1997. West of Muang Tam is a large ancient reservoir (baray). The site is connected to Phanom Rung by a good road passing very old villages.
